How to Make a Raindance AI Video From Two Photos

How to make a Raindance AI video from two photos, with real lyrics sung on a pier. The seven shots, what our test renders got wrong, the cost, adding the official song, and how the Higgsfield method compares.

A Raindance AI video puts two people on a weathered pier. One sings softly towards the water while the other listens, then they lean together on the sand as the light fades. It's the most romantic trend of the autumn, and you can make one from two photos. The singer actually sings: you get real lyrics, written for the two of you.

What the Raindance AI video trend is

The song is "Raindance" by Dave featuring Tems, released in October 2025, later a UK number one. Its music video was shot in Lagos and came out in January 2026. On 6 September 2026 a 21-second clip of its pier scene started doing the rounds on TikTok, and AI remakes followed within days: comic-book characters, footballers and dogs. AI Rap Duo isn't affiliated with the artists or the song, and our videos don't use the song or the music video.

Most remakes copy the original almost shot for shot. Interest kept climbing into October. In the 28 days to 1 October, Similarweb counted 480 searches for "raindance ai video" and 400 for "raindance trend". The how-to questions tell the story: "how to make the raindance higgsfield ai" (220), "how are people making the raindance ai video?" (180) and "how to make ai rain dance trend" (120).

The original pier clip runs about 21 seconds and cuts ten times. We rebuilt its structure as seven shots in 15 seconds, without using a single frame of it:

Seven frames from one Raindance AI video: a wide pier, a woman singing towards the water, the couple on the sand, a point at the lens, a close-up with eyes closed, a long pier view and a dusk shot with folded arms
The seven shots, from our couple example. The format is 4:3, like the clip being copied.

How to make a Raindance AI video in 4 steps

Open Raindance AI Trend. The pier, the shots and the format are already set.

  1. Add two photos, the singer first. Photo 1 · The one who sings is the voice of the video. Photo 2 · Their partner (a person or a pet) listens, leans in and never sings. Both photos are needed.
  2. Say who the song is for, or skip it. Who is the song for? (optional) takes a short line such as "Mia and Leo, our first summer". Leave it empty and the song is about a quiet afternoon by the water.
  3. Pick a song language if you want to. English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese or French. The size line reads "Every Raindance video is 15 seconds in 4:3."
  4. Tap Make our Raindance video. Sign in with Google or email. The lyrics appear first, three lines for the singer, then the video records.

Here's what our three examples were given to sing:

  • Couple: "Stay a little longer by the sea. / Every little wave brings you to me. / Hold me by the water, never let me go."
  • He sings: "Quiet water, you're my favourite place. / I could watch the light move on your face. / Slow it down, we're never in a race."
  • With a dog: "You and me, the water and the sky. / Best friend of mine, never say goodbye. / Every lazy summer, side by side."

What went wrong in our first Raindance AI video tests

Our first Raindance AI video looked like every tool site's version, which isn't what the trend looks like. Three rounds of testing got it closer:

Two frames from the first test, with a sun flare and an aerial drone shot, next to two final frames: a calm grey-blue lagoon and a woman folding her arms at dusk
The first test against the version you get now.
  • Round 1: a postcard. A blazing sunset, lens flare and a drone shot to finish. Pretty, but nothing like the original's soft, overcast light.
  • Round 2: a holiday advert. Six shots in the right order and a 4:3 frame, but the water turned Caribbean, palm trees appeared on the sand and the lens bent like a fisheye.
  • Round 3: the one you get. A grey-blue sky, a dark teal lagoon, muted colour, a 35 mm look, no sun or plants on the beach, and a seventh shot where the singer folds her arms as the light goes.

One failure surprised us. When the AI wrote a verse out of stock phrases such as "stay with me" and "come alive", the video model's copyright check refused the job after ten minutes. No credits were taken, but it's ten minutes lost. The lyric writer now avoids well-known song titles. In all but one of our test renders, speech recognition heard every line word for word.

What a Raindance AI video costs

Some new visitors get a free 5-second preview after signing in with Google, with no card needed. It's 480p, one per person and can't be downloaded.

The full video is 15 seconds at 720p, which is 13 credits: $7.99 on its own, or about $3.90 from the $14.99 pack of 50 credits. Credits never expire, payments are one-time and the pricing page has every option. A failed render gives its credits back automatically.

Plan on about 5 minutes. Our five test renders took between 4 min 39 s and 5 min 49 s. You'll get an email when it's ready, and it stays in My videos.

Photos for a better Raindance AI video

  • Singer first. Photo 1 sings in close-up, so give it your clearest, front-facing photo.
  • Clothes carry over. Each person wears what they wear in their photo. Light summer clothes suit the pier.
  • A pet partner works. A dog sits on the edge of the pier, leans on the singer's leg on the sand and gets a hug at the end. It stays a real dog and doesn't sing.
  • One face per photo. Crop friends out of group shots.
A good photo of one person, face straight on and evenly lit, next to four weak ones: sunglasses, a side profile, a group photo and a dark, backlit face
Do this, not these. All five are AI-generated faces.

How people make a Raindance AI video on Higgsfield

The Higgsfield route is motion transfer. In Genjutsu, its Motion Transfer mode, you upload a source clip of 4 to 30 seconds, usually the pier scene itself, plus photos of the two people who replace the singers. Community presets such as "Seaside Couple Recast" and "Seaside Puppy Duet" have the clip and the instructions built in.

What you add The original clip plus your photos Your photos Two photos
What you get Your faces in the music video's own shots An edit of your photos to the song A new seven-shot performance on a pier
Sound The clip's, so the original song The original song An original song sung word for word
Cost (Oct 2026) 104 credits (about $5.20) for 15 seconds at 720p, on a paid plan Free to start $7.99, or about $3.90 from a pack

Motion transfer looks the most like the original because it is the original, with your faces on it. That's also the catch: you're publishing someone else's footage and song. Ours shares the mood and the structure, not the footage.

Posting it with the Raindance sound

Tap Download video to save your Raindance AI video as an MP4. Then pick one:

  • Keep our song. The mouth movements match the lyrics we wrote, so it looks right as it is.
  • Use the official track. In TikTok, tap Add sound, choose "Raindance" and turn the original down. The lips won't match Tems's words, but most trend posts have that loose, music-video feel anyway.

The video is 4:3, like the clip everyone is copying, so TikTok shows bars above and below. Add the lyrics as text in the bars and label the video as AI.
