Alors On Danse Meme: The Sketch, the AI Trend and How to Make Yours
What the Alors on danse meme is, where the Jamel and Stromae studio sketch comes from, what "alors on danse" means, and three ways to make the AI version.

The Alors on danse meme is a few seconds of a white studio: one person taps a melody on a tiny keyboard, the other leans in, hums, points at the sky, and then the two of them rush the camera with completely straight faces. In late September 2026 people started remaking it with AI, putting friends, couples, footballers and even goats in the studio. Below is where the scene comes from, what the words mean, how the AI versions are made, and how to make your own.
Where the Alors on danse meme comes from
The scene is older than the trend. It comes from a comedy sketch on Jamel Debbouze's stage show DVD Made in Jamel, released on 1 December 2010. Jamel, the French comedian, pretends to be the man who taught Stromae how to write "Alors on danse", the Belgian singer's 2009 hit. Stromae stands at a small keyboard, Jamel waves his arms over a laptop, gives terrible advice, and finally the famous melody clicks into place.
The full sketch runs about six minutes. The part people share is the last twenty or thirty seconds: the hook comes in, the beat drops, one of them moves close to the lens, and the two of them run at the camera as the shot widens to the whole white studio. That ending has been reposted for years as a fake "making of" the song. Two reposts in March and April 2026 passed 20 million plays each, months before anyone added AI.
If you want to watch the original, the official Jamel TV channel on YouTube uploaded a cut of the sketch on 6 November 2025. It is worth seeing once, because every AI version copies its timing.
What "alors on danse" means
"Alors on danse" is French for "so we dance", or "so let's dance". In the song, Stromae runs through everything that wears people down (work, money, love, stress) and keeps landing on the same answer: so we dance. The sad words over a dance beat are the joke of the song, and the deadpan faces are the joke of the studio scene.
There is a second, unrelated Alors on danse meme. In 2021 a slow, swaying group dance to the same song spread on TikTok, with one creator's clip passing 168 million plays. Know Your Meme still lists only that one. When people search for it in 2026, they almost always mean the studio scene instead.
How the AI version of the Alors on danse meme took off
AI tools that copy movement from one video onto new people arrived at the start of September 2026. The earliest AI take on the studio scene we could find was posted on 25 September, a parody starring an Indonesian politician. Within a couple of days a version with two tech bosses was everywhere, and Fast Company wrote about it on 7 October.
After that the trend opened up to everyone. The most watched versions we found were animals and athletes: a trio of goats made with a CapCut template passed 1.2 million plays, and a pair of parrots made with Higgsfield passed 900,000. Football stars, fighters, racing drivers, film characters and plenty of friends and couples followed. Nearly all of them keep two people (sometimes three), the white studio, the keyboard and the same melody.
What happens in each second of the Alors on danse meme
Most AI versions use about fifteen seconds of the ending. This is how the scene runs in the version we built ours on:
- 0–3 s: the hook. The keyboard player bends over the keys while the other person leans in, points at the keys and hums the melody along with the track.
- 3–9 s: the hype. Fists on the chest in time with the beat, pointing, a finger to the sky, a long look across at the keyboard.
- 9 s: the cut. A hard cut to the whole white studio under round ceiling lights.
- 9–15 s: the rush. One of them charges the lens with a dead-serious face and pumping fists, while the other dances at the back.

3 ways to make the Alors on danse meme
| Video app template | Your own prompt | Two photos on our page | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you do | Pick the template, add photos | Write a prompt, find a reference clip | Add two photos |
| Timing of the scene | Usually the template's | Hard to get right | The real hook, hype, cut and rush |
| Faces after the cut | Often drift | Often drift | Kept, with your own clothes |
| Sound | Usually the song | Add it yourself | Already in the video |
1. A template in a video app. Higgsfield and CapCut both have templates for the scene. They are fast, but many are widescreen or short, and the faces often drift once the camera cuts to the wide shot.
2. Your own prompt. With a video model such as Seedance you can write the scene yourself and give it a reference clip. Expect a lot of tries: the model has to keep two people apart, keep their clothes through the cut, and open and close their mouths at the right moments.
3. Two photos on our page. On Alors On Danse AI you add one photo for the keyboard and one for the hype. You get fifteen seconds, vertical, 720p, with the trend's sound, and our examples show the two photos next to each video.
How to pick photos for the Alors on danse meme
- One adult per photo. Photos of children and pets are turned away, and a group photo confuses who goes where.
- Face to the camera, good light. A clear, front-facing face keeps the likeness, even when you are small at the back after the cut.
- Chest up or closer. You don't need a full-length photo; the AI adds plain trousers and shoes.
- Wear what you want to see. The clothes in your photo are the clothes in the video, before and after the cut.

Photo 1 plays the keyboard on the left. Photo 2 hums, hypes and rushes the camera, so give that slot the person who will enjoy being the face of the clip.
Posting the Alors on danse meme on TikTok and Reels
Our videos already carry the trend's sound, lined up with the hum and the cut, so you can post them as they are. If you prefer, pick the official "Alors on danse" sound in TikTok and turn ours down. Mark the video as AI-generated when the app asks, and only post faces of people who said yes. The song belongs to its owners, so follow the music rules of the app you post on.
How we made our Alors on danse meme video
We never use a frame of the original sketch or of anyone's TikTok. Instead we made our own fifteen-second stand-in clip once: two AI actors in a white studio, doing exactly what happens in the scene, built from a popular two-person remake. Each new order swaps those two actors for the people in your photos.
Our first try copied only the movement, as a depth map: a moving picture of shapes with no faces. It got the moves roughly right, but it had no mouths to copy, so nobody hummed on time, and in some frames a person grew a third arm.

The stand-in clip fixed both. Because the actors have real faces, the hum in the first three seconds lines up with the sound, and every frame has the right number of hands. Then one more problem showed up: after the cut, the person at the back sometimes went back to the stand-in actor's navy sweater and lost their beard. We now describe each person's clothes and facial hair from their own photo and lock them for the whole video.

Our test videos took between 4 min 47 s and 9 min 28 s to make, plus about half a minute to add the sound.
Alors on danse meme FAQ
Where does the Alors on danse meme come from?
From a 2010 comedy sketch on Jamel Debbouze's DVD Made in Jamel, in which he pretends to teach Stromae how to write "Alors on danse". The AI remakes started in late September 2026.
What does "alors on danse" mean?
"So we dance". It is the hook of Stromae's 2009 song, about dancing your worries away.
Can I make the Alors on danse meme for free?
Some apps give sign-up credits, but they rarely cover a whole video. Ours is paid per video with no subscription, and the examples on the Alors On Danse AI page show what you get before you pay.
How many photos do I need?
Two, one adult in each: one for the keyboard, one for the hype and the rush to the camera.
Is this the same as the 2021 Alors on danse dance?
No. The 2021 trend is a slow group sway to the same song. The 2026 trend is the studio scene from the sketch.
