> What the A2O LITE NEON dance is, the two-person intro second by second, why AI versions borrow hair and show the dancer hiding behind, and how to make yours from two photos.

The A2O LITE NEON dance is the two-person intro of "NEON", the debut single of the K-pop girl group A2O LITE: a wide stance, a back turn, head flicks, deep knee bends and a high kick, danced by two people one step apart. Within days of the release in October 2026, people were putting themselves, friends, couples, film characters and cartoons into it with AI. Below is where the dance comes from, every move second by second, how the AI versions are made, what goes wrong, and how to make your own.

## Where the A2O LITE NEON dance comes from

A2O LITE is a nine-member girl group from A2O Entertainment, the agency Lee Soo-man founded after leaving SM Entertainment. It debuted at a joint showcase with the boy group A2O SOUL in Goyang, South Korea, on 12 October 2026, and "NEON", produced by Yoo Young-jin and Dem Jointz, came out the next evening.

It reached No. 1 on Melon's Top 100 about 29 hours later, which Korean media called the fastest climb for a new group's debut song since Melon rebuilt the chart in 2021.

The performance opens with a duo: two members dance the intro together. Fans singled it out right away, and online communities compared it to BoA's past stages. The choreographer J-Black says he helped create that opening sequence, with Lee Dong-gyu and Choi In-young of Cream Dance.

We don't show the performance or the music video here. Every AI version, including ours, recreates the dance with other people.

## The A2O LITE NEON dance, second by second

The part people copy lasts about fifteen seconds: in our version, one continuous full-body shot from a fixed camera low near the floor.

| Seconds | What happens |
|---|---|
| 0–1.5 | The front dancer stands in the middle, feet wide apart, almost still. The second dancer is hidden behind. |
| 1.5–3.3 | The second dancer steps out on the right, a step behind, and both start to dance. |
| 3.3–5.2 | The front dancer turns their back to the camera with an arm up; the second lays a hand on their back. |
| 5.2–5.7 | A sharp head whip. |
| 5.7–10.7 | Head flicks, a hand swept over the head, a jump, pointing and deep knee bends, side by side. |
| 10.7–12.2 | The high kick. |
| 12.2–12.9 | A quick spin. |
| 12.9–15 | Their hands meet, and they touch palms at the very end. |

The two dancers keep their places the whole time: the front one a little to the left and closer to the camera, the second a step behind on the right.

## How the AI version of the A2O LITE NEON dance took off

With most K-pop debuts, the dance challenge spreads first. With "NEON", as the Korean broadcaster SBS pointed out, the memes went viral first: a chorus line misheard as the Korean words for "unmarried" and "choosing not to marry", then AI clips of the film Oldboy's characters dancing the group part, two TV drama characters doing it as a duo and the cartoon Chiikawa, several with tens of thousands of likes.

The duo intro became the favourite to copy: one shot, two people, full body, no cuts to hide behind. A vertical practice video of it has passed 2 million views on TikTok, and AI apps and single-trend websites now offer two-photo templates for the A2O LITE NEON dance.

## 3 ways to make the A2O LITE NEON dance with AI

| | AI apps and single-trend sites | Your own prompt | Two photos on our page |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you do | Pick the template, add two photos | Write a prompt, find a reference clip | Add two photos |
| Scene | The intro in a plain studio, or the music video's cuts | Whatever your reference gives | The whole intro in one full-body shot, in a white studio |
| Your hair and clothes | Often borrowed from the template dancers | Hard to hold | Kept from your photos |
| Size | About 14–15 seconds, often 480p | Depends on the model | 15 seconds, 720p, vertical or widescreen |
| Sound | The original song | Add it yourself | Already in the video |

**1. An AI app or a single-trend site.** The ones we checked on 17 October come in two kinds: the intro re-made in a plain studio, about 14 seconds and vertical, or a copy of the music video's cuts and close-ups, often widescreen. Most render at 480p.

**2. Your own prompt.** A video model that copies movement from a reference clip can recreate the dance, but expect a lot of tries. Two problems come up again and again, the same two we had to solve: hair and the dancer hiding behind.

**3. Two photos on our page.** On [A2O LITE NEON AI](https://airapduo.io/a2o-lite-neon-ai.md) you add one photo of each person. You get fifteen seconds at 720p, vertical or widescreen, with the song already in the video, and every example shows the two photos next to the result.

## Why long hair is the hard part

A model that copies a dance from a reference clip copies shapes as well as moves: the outline of a jacket, a hood and above all hair. In our first test, the reference dancer in front had long hair. The man in our photos has short hair and kept it for most of the video, until the kick: for about half a second, long hair swung out behind him, exactly where the reference dancer's hair had been.

Telling the model "short hair at all times" did not help. Changing the reference did: we remade the dance with two stand-in dancers of our own, both with very short hair and plain T-shirts, in a bright white studio, and every video now copies that version. Short to long works fine: a long-haired person in a short-haired stand-in's place keeps their own hair. Long to short is what leaks.

(Image: Two frames of the high kick: on the left a short-haired man suddenly has long hair flying behind him, on the right the same man kicks with his own short hair — Our own tests (AI-generated faces). Left: the first test, where long hair appears at the kick. Right: the final version, copied from our short-haired stand-ins.)

## Why the dancer hiding behind is the other hard part

For the first second and a half, the second dancer is hidden right behind the first. A person watching sees one dancer; the model sees a few pixels of a second one at the edges: a shoulder, a sleeve, legs between the front dancer's feet. In our second test it filled those pixels with the woman from photo 2, so her curls showed at his neck and her black trousers between his legs before she was meant to appear.

The fix was to erase the hidden stand-in from our reference until the moment they step out. With nothing there to copy, the front dancer stands alone, and the second one appears on cue.

(Image: Two frames of a man standing alone in a white studio with feet wide apart: on the left long curly hair shows at his neck and dark trousers show between his legs, on the right he stands alone with nothing behind him — Our own tests (AI-generated faces). Left: the second test, where the hidden dancer shows through. Right: the final version, with nobody visible behind him.)

## How to pick photos for the A2O LITE NEON dance

- **Two adults, one in each photo.** Photos of children and pets are turned away.
- **Face to the camera, good light.** A clear face keeps the likeness through the turn and the flicks.
- **Head to toe if you can.** A full-length photo gives the AI your trousers and shoes. If a photo stops at the waist, photo 1 dances in light-grey trousers and white sneakers, photo 2 in black trousers and black sneakers.
- **Wear what you want to dance in.** The clothes in the photo are the clothes in the video.
- **Any hair works.** Curls, ponytails and long hair all come through: the stand-ins have none to lend.
- **Choose who goes in front.** Photo 1 opens the video alone; photo 2 steps out on the right.

## Vertical or widescreen

The trend lives on TikTok and Reels, so vertical is the default. For YouTube, a laptop or a TV, pick 16:9: the same moves and timing, with the white studio carrying on to both sides.

(Annotated frame: Our widescreen example (AI-generated faces): the same dance and timing in 16:9. Notes: Photo 1 dances in front; Photo 2 dances a step behind on the right; The same white studio carries on to both sides.)

## Posting the A2O LITE NEON dance on TikTok and Reels

Your video already carries the song, lined up with the moves. Post it as it is, or pick the song's sound in the app and turn the original volume down. Spell the tags with the letter O, A2O, so your post lands next to everyone else's.

Label it as AI-generated when you post; TikTok and Instagram both ask for it. And only use photos of people who agreed to be in it.
